THE STORY BEHIND THE ZOMBIE

It started with Pat.
And a whole lot of makeup.

The transformation was fantastic. The makeup was spectacular. Getting the damn stuff off afterward? That was another story.

Pat's Halloween transformation was exactly what zombie makeup is supposed to be: dramatic, colorful, stubborn and impossible to ignore.

Then the party ended. The costumes came off. The night was over.

The makeup, however, apparently had other plans.

And that little problem got Pat thinking:

There had to be a better way.
So the story of Zombie Resurrection™ began.

The Moroccan Connection

A makeup problem with a much older story.

Pat had a Moroccan friend who helped spark the connection. Morocco has a long tradition of beauty rituals, performance and richly pigmented makeup. The modern zombie wasn't the first person to discover that dramatic color can be spectacular going on and stubborn coming off.

From Pat's zombie face to Moroccan beauty traditions.

For generations, Moroccan beauty culture has centered on plant oils, botanicals, mineral-rich ingredients and ritual cleansing. Traditional performers and dancers have also worked with expressive eye and face makeup where removing the look matters just as much as creating it.

That idea became part of Pat's story: don't attack the skin just because the makeup is stubborn. Go back to the botanicals and build the cleanup around ingredients with a long history in skin care.
